FAQ
FAQ
Do the makeup and hair rates for the Bride include a in-studio consultation before the wedding day? What is a consult?
The consultation fee is built into the 'Queen for the Day' bridal makeup and hair rates. A in-studio consultation before the wedding day is highly recommended, to be assured you will have the exact look you are envisioning for your big day. A full makeup application including airbrush foundation with false lashes will be applied for the makeup portion of the consult. Your requested hair style or updo will also be completed at the consult. The stylist will do minor adjustments to the hair style; if need be at that time. We will take photos (hair stylist) after the consult is completed and the makeup artist will take notes of the application products to ensure the look will be the same and even more prefected on the wedding day.
The consultations take about 1 hour, per service booked. *The time alloted will vary if one team member is doing both services or if services are broken up between two team members.
If a 2nd consult is requested after the 1st is completed, to change up the look, additional fees will apply.
In-studio consults will vary by location depending on the reserved artist/stylist doing the Brides services. Whichever stylist/artist does the in-studio consult prior to the wedding day will be the same artist/stylist available for the wedding day.
*If a client is late to a consultation that may hinder the styling options available at the consultation and they may be asked to reschedule and/or charged for the missed consult; after 20mins from scheduled time. We are in-studio by appointment only.
What should you bring to the consultation?
Bring along any hair accessory that you may have, to be placed in by the stylist. We also encourage any photo inspirations to be brought along for the makeup and hair look you are envisioning. Please do not bring your veil as studio/salon spaces are small and the stylist will place the veil in for you on the wedding day.
Arrive without makeup on, and have clean DRY hair with minimum product buildup. A freshly washed and moisturized face is preferred.
Are in-studio consultations included for the Bridal party or Moms?
In-studio consults are NOT included into the rates for the Bridal party or Moms. If they request a in-studio makeup or hair consult prior to the wedding day that amount is $90 (per service) and then full service rates would be charged on the wedding day.
The makeup consult rate does include airbrush foundation and false lashes.
When should the consultation be booked? How far in advance?
The consults are scheduled 5-6 weeks prior to the wedding day and are held at the reserved stylist or makeup artist salon/ studio. Whomever is reserved for the Brides services will be the same stylist/artist available on the wedding day. Location of the stylist salons vary throughout the cities. Schedules for booking consults will also vary depending upon who is your stylist/artist.
We do not recommend scheduling the consults too far in advance and prefer not to unless Brides are from out of town and have limited time in MN before their wedding day.
Saturday is the busiest day for weddings and therefore we do not book consultations at any time on Saturdays. Most of our studios and salons are closed on Sundays.
What is the save the date deposit for?
Non-refundable deposit is due upon booking. This will go toward the Brides final balance due for services. The deposit assures your date is reserved by Lisa or a member of her team. Whichever stylist/makeup artist does the bridal consultation will also be the stylist/makeup artist who will be doing the brides wedding day services.
Is there a minimum amount of girls required in the bridal party to book services:
Yes, there is a Bride plus 4 minimum required for all on-location weddings. This is due to current business demands; especially during our extremely busy peak summer months. Bride plus 4 can include bridesmaids/moms/personal attendants/grandmothers/etc.
*Flower girls and JR attendants do not count toward the required minimum.
*Contact Lisa for winter season minimum requirements.
How many girls can we accommodate for wedding day services?
We can accommodate larger bridal parties for makeup and hair. There are no additional fees for extra makeup artist or hair stylist but will be dependent upon the specified morning of timeline and the travel distance. The most senior stylist and artist can typically handle Bride plus 5-6 themselves before another stylist/artist would be added on for additional help.
Any additional stylist/artist needs will be determined by Lisa, staffing needs and appropriated timing for services.
How long does each person’s service take on the wedding day?
A good rule of thumb is .30 minutes per girl, per service, with the exception of the Bride services. All of the girls on the team are considered "senior" artist/stylist and we have our timing down to be able to work off of our timelines accurately.
The Bride’s hair will take 1 hour, and Bride’s makeup will take .45 minutes. The Brides make up is done last, prior to dressing to ensure the "freshest" application thoughout the day. The makeup artist will go back through and do lip touch ups before she packs up on the ladies who went first for applications. The hair stylist will place in your veil or show someone how to do that before she leaves.
If any member of your bridal party has longer hair, Lisa will need to know this in advance for timing purposes. Additional fees for longer/thicker hair will apply and their hair services will be allotted at .45mins instead of the .30mins. **Longer hair is determined by PAST the bra line or extremely thick.
Clip in hair extensions: .15mins will be allotted extra timing for any extension placement and a $25 fee will apply.
Lisa will send out a timeline 3-4 weeks before the wedding for the Bride to approve. The timeline will list our set up time, individual clients start/end time for their services, all rates and balances due and acceptable payment forms taken on the wedding day. The 'morning of' timeline ensures the Bride that timing will flow perfectly for her wedding day and she will be ready and on time for photos!
Cancelling services 3 weeks before the wedding day?
50% payment will be charged for each cancelled service, includes the Bride or any bridal party member 3 weeks prior to the wedding. Any bridal party cancelations will be charged to the Brides balance on the wedding day.
100% payment will be charged for each cancelled service within the week of the wedding day or any 'no shows' on the wedding day. The account that you used to for the deposit, will be charged if there are any cancelled services within the 3 week grace period.
Wet Hair?
A $25 additional blow out fee will be assessed to anyone who arrives to their hair stylist on the wedding day with wet hair. This will throw off the timeline also, due to extra time blowing out the hair.
Can I bring my own clip in extensions for the stylist?
If the Bride or any member of the bridal party wishes to bring their own clip-in extensions they must have them already placed in their hair prior to starting hair services to avoid extra fees; if they are within the normal hair length (not past the bra line).
If the Bride or any member of the bridal party wants the stylist to place and curl them, a $25 placement fee will be assessed to their hair service. Lisa will need to know who is bringing their own clip-in extensions prior to the wedding day to update the 'morning of' timeline. Extra time is alloted for placement.
How is payment accepted?
The save the date deposit is paid by a online link that Lisa will provide to the Bride. The Bride can pay her balance the same way online the week of the wedding so that she has no balance due on the day of to worry about.
The Bride can choose to pay for some/all/portion or none of the bridal party services. Whichever is most convenient for the Bride and her bridal party.
Bridal party members pay separately, directly to the stylist/artist doing their individual services on the wedding day. Check or Zelle is preferred payment methods.
**Any parking or valet charges are to be paid by the bride PER artist/stylist that is required for wedding day services
Is all travel included in the rates?
The first 30 miles radius (ROUND TRIP) from Maple Grove, MN is included.
Any mileage over 30 miles is then charged at $0.70 per additional mile per stylist/artist that is required for the wedding day. The mileage will be added to the Brides final balance due.
Parking fees may apply per artist/stylist required for the wedding day if incurred at the venue/hotel.
Late Start or tardiness of any member of the bridal party?
If we are unable to start wedding day services to due tardiness of the Bride or any member of the bridal party, additional fees will apply after 15mins.
For each 15mins that a stylist/makeup artist has to wait a $30 fee will be assessed and due before services can be started. Late starts will throw off the timeline, and services may be cut short due to tardiness.
How does gratuities work and are they added to your final bill for makeup and hair services?
For your convenience, an industry standard 18% gratuity will be added to all on-site services.
